VYZULTA (Latanoprostene bunod) is an ophthalmic (eye drop) medication used to reduce pressure in the fluid of the eyes (intraocular pressure) in patients with either ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma. When VYZULTA eye drops are applied, the active ingredient is split into two active moieties: latanoprost and butanediol mononitrate. Latanoprost increases the amount of aqueous humor (fluid in the eye) that exits the eye, contributing to the lowering of ocular pressure. Butanediol mononitrate releases nitric oxide, which relaxes the trabecular meshwork.
