  • Venofer is supplied as a solution for intravenous (IV) injection in concentrations of 50 mg/2,5 mL, 100 mg/5 mL, and 200 mg/10 mL in single-dose vials. The dosage and treatment regimen of Venofer are tailored based on factors such as iron levels and the age of the person being treated. The initial test dose for adults is 25 mg of iron sucrose over 15 minutes. If there are no adverse reactions within an hour, the remaining Venofer dose can be administered. Typically, a total dose infusion of 1000 mg over 3.5 to 4 hours is recommended for most patients. The medication must be administered under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
