Your doctor may prescribe Treximet to treat migraine headaches with or without aura. It contains two active ingredients: naproxen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and sumatriptan, a selective serotonin receptor agonist. Naproxen helps relieve pain and reduce inflammation, while sumatriptan constricts blood vessels in the brain and blocks the release of certain substances that cause migraine symptoms.
