Synvisc (Hylan GF 20)

SYNVISC injection is administered by a medical professional in a clinic or hospital setting. The medication is administered using anaseptic techniquedirectly into the knee joint via intra articular injection. Your healthcare professional will administer SYNVISC once weekly for three injections.
SYNVISC contains polymers of Hylan A and Hylan B, which are derivatives of hyaluronan. SYNVISC contains cross-linked chains of hyaluronan, which contains polymers of sodium-glucuronate-N-acetylglucosamine. Hyaluronan is found naturally in joints and is distributed in the connective, epithelial, and neural tissues of the body. SYNVISC should be stored at room temperature and protected from light in the original packaging.
SYNVISC should only be used for osteoarthritis of the knee and should not be injected in other joints. SYNVISC is made using chicken combs.
