If you are taking an antacid, take ketoconazole at least 2 hours before or 1 hour after taking the antacid. Tell you doctor if you have a history of liver problems, alcoholism, low testosterone, decreased adrenal gland function, Addison’s disease, or adrenal insufficiency. Nizoral may not be suitable for people with achlorhydria (low stomach acid production). Ketoconazole can cause QT prolongation and endangerheart health– persons with cardiac health issues should discuss with their doctor before this antifungal treatment medication. Avoid alcohol or consume only in moderation while treating a fungal infection with Nizoral, as it may reduce the effectiveness of the medication. Speak with your doctor if you are pregnant or nursing before beginning to use medication.
