IOPIDINE (apraclonidine) is a prescription medication for use in the eye. IOPIDINE can be prescribed to treat open-angle glaucoma or to prevent an increase in intraocular pressure after surgery. In open-angle glaucoma, the drainage canals in the eye become clogged, which increases the fluid pressure in the eye. If left untreated, glaucoma can lead to damage of the optic nerve and blindness. Lopidine Eye Drops (Apraclonidine)

  • For open-angle glaucoma, Instill 1 to 2 drops into the affected eye(s) three times daily as directed by the prescriber. Do not touch the tip of the applicator to the surface of the eye. Doing so can contaminate the medication, leading to infections of the eye. Wait 15 minutes after applying IOPIDINE to insert contact lenses.
