Inhibace (cilazapril) is a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure. It's also used with digitalis and/or fluid pills to treat congestive heart failure. Inhibace (Cilazapril)

  • Inhibace comes in 2.5 mg and 5 mg oral tablets. Carefully read and follow the instructions that come with your Inhibace prescription. If you have any questions or concerns, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. High blood pressure If taking Inhibace alone to treat high blood pressure, the recommended starting dose is 2.5 mg by mouth one time a day. The dose may be adjusted based on response to the medication. Patients should not take more than 10 mg per day. If taking Inhibace with fluid pills, caution should be used. All fluid pills should be stopped 2 to 3 days before starting treatment with Inhibace. If the fluid pills cannot be stopped, then the recommended starting dose of Inhibace is 0.5 mg by mouth once daily with close blood pressure monitoring. The dose may be adjusted based on response to the medication. Congestive Heart Failure The recommended starting dose for patients with congestive heart failure is 0.5 mg by mouth one time a day. The dose may be adjusted based on response to the medication. The dose may also be adjusted in elderly patients and in patients with kidney problems or low sodium levels.
