Exelon Patch (Rivastigmine)

The main components of Exelon patch 5 are: Each patch of 5 cm² contains 9 mg rivastigmine base, in vivo release rate of 4.6 mg/24 hours. The outside of the backing layer is beige and labeled with "PrEXELON* PATCH 5 (rivastigmine) 4.6 mg/24 h" and "AMCX." Nonmedicinal ingredients: acrylic copolymer, poly (butyl methacrylate, methyl-methacrylate), silicone adhesive applied to a flexible polymer backing film, silicone oil, and vitamin E. In Exelon patch 10: Each patch of 10 cm² contains 18 mg rivastigmine base, in vivo release rate of 9.5 mg/24 hours. The outside of the backing layer is beige and labeled with "PrEXELON* PATCH 10 (rivastigmine) 9.5 mg/24 h" and "BHDI." Nonmedicinal ingredients: acrylic copolymer, poly (butyl methacrylate, methyl-methacrylate), silicone adhesive applied to a flexible polymer backing film, silicone oil, and vitamin E.

Only one patch should be worn at a time. Never use multiple patches at one time and always remove the old patch before applying a new one. If you accidentally apply more than one patch, remove them all and contact your doctor immediately. Weight should constantly be checked. Let your doctor know about all the medications you are consuming, or any allergic reactions, or if you are at risk of stomach ulcers.

The most common side effects of Exelon patch include: Depression, Anxiety, Headache, Dizziness, Stomachache, Muscle weakness, Tiredness, Urinary tract infections, Trouble sleeping In case of any allergic reactions or serious side effects, contact your physician immediately. The serious side effects may include nausea, vomiting, dehydration, diarrhea, weight loss, reduced appetite, or ulcers.
