EMEND (aprepitant) is a medication prescribed to treat chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV). EMEND should only be used under the close supervision of a doctor that treats cancer (oncologist). EMEND is approved to treat CINV in patients who are being treated with moderate or highly emetogenic chemotherapy. It can also be used to prevent postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV). EMEND works by blocking NK1 receptors. NK1 receptors are involved in causing nausea and vomiting, so blocking these receptors helps to prevent this response.

Emend (Aprepitant)
