Elestrin (Estradiol)

  • Elestrin is available in a metered dose pump. One pump actuation delivers 0.87 grams of gel providing 0.52 mg of estradiol. The typical starting dose is to apply 0.87 grams (one pump actuation) to skin that is clean, dry, and unbroken on the upper arm once daily. Your doctor may adjust your dose if needed. Wash your hands with soap and water after applying Elestrin gel. Let the gel dry for at least 5 minutes before dressing. Do not apply the gel to the breast or in or around the vagina. Do not let anyone touch the skin where you applied the gel for at least 2 hours after application.
