Ciprodex Ciprodex ear drops is a combination of 2 drugs, ciprofloxacin, an antibiotic belonging to quinolone group and dexamethasone, which is an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid. Ciprodex is used for the treatment of bacterial outer ear (acute external media) and inner ear (acute otitis media) infections. Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic and kills the disease-causing bacteria, and dexamethasone’s anti-inflammatory effect helps in reducing the swelling, congestion, and discomfort associated with the infection. It is used for treating acute otitis media and acute otitis externa (also known as swimmer’s ear) in both children aged 6 months and above and adults. You can buy Ciprodex easily online from Canada Pharmacy. Ciprodex treats only bacterial ear infections. It will not be effective for other types of ear infections.
Ciprodex (Ciprofloxacin / Dexamethasone)
- Ciprodex should be used as directed by your physician. Usually, it is used twice daily, i.e., after every 12 hours. The ear canal should be clean and dry before drops are administered. The patient should be lying down with the treated ear upwards. Hold the bottle in your hand for a few minutes to warm it up. This reduces the dizziness experienced by it. Shake the bottle and hold it directly over the ear opening, without touching it to avoid contamination. Administer the number of drops as directed by the physician. Gently pump the cartilage 5 times near the ear opening to facilitate the passage of the drug into the middle ear. After 1 minute insert a cotton plug in the ear. Repeat with the other ear if necessary. Replace the cap after use.
