Biltricide is a prescription antihelminthic drug used to treat blood fluke infection. Blood flukes are a type of parasite. Blood flukes are not found in the United States, but infection is common in other parts of the world. Symptoms of schistosomiasis include fever, cough, diarrhea, muscle pain, stomach pain, and rash. Biltricide paralyzes blood flukes, causing them to detach from blood vessels. Once detached, they can be removed by the immune system.
