Biaxin (clarithromycin) is a macrolide antibiotic that's used to treat certain bacterial infections of the lungs, skin, ears, sinuses, and throat. It's also used with other medications to treat a type of bacteria in the stomach calledHelicobacter pylori(H. pylori).
