Aptiom is a prescription drug for the treatment of partial-onset seizures. Partial-onset seizures are abnormal electrical activity where the signals are not transmitted correctly in the brain. As opposed to other types of seizures, partial-onset only occurs in one part of the brain. Typically a person does not lose consciousness with this type of seizure.   • The starting dosage is 400 mg by mouth once daily. This may be increased to 800 mg once daily after one week or 1200 mg once daily after two weeks.
