Advil (Ibuprofen)

  • The usual OTC dose for Advil is 200 mg tablets. The 400 mg and 800 mg tablets are prescription-only. Do not take more than 3200 mg of Advil per day unless directed otherwise by your physician. The usual Advil dosage is 1-2 tablets by mouth every four to six hours as needed for pain. Advil and other NSAIDs should be taken with food. Advil should be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest period.
