Acarizax is a prescription immunotherapy drug that is used to reduce allergic reactions of a person to American dust mites and European dust mites. The tablets contain standardized allergen extract from dust mitesDermatophagoides farinaeandDermatophagoides pteronyssinus. Acarizax is used for the treatment of patients with IgE-mediated allergy symptoms. It works by causing an antibody response with an increase in IgG, which then competes with IgE in the binding to allergens, which reduces the immune response. The treatment typically begins working in about four weeks.
